Nursing Special Interest Group Overview
The HELINA Nursing Special Interest Group (NSIG) was established by HELINA (The Pan African Health Informatics Association) in April 2016 from the former Southern Africa Nursing Informatics group.
The group has the same vision as the IMIA-NIS ( http://imia-medinfo.org/wp/sig-ni-nursing-informatics/) which is to provide leadership worldwide in the development, implementation, and evolution of Nursing Informatics, as an inter-related component of Health Informatics, to ensure Nursing Informatics supports the nursing profession, organizations, communities and patients in pursuing and achieving health for all. The group is represented on the IMIA-NI General Assembly by Prof G Wright who is a fellow of IMIA-NI.
The group helped run sessions HELINA 2017 in Burundi attracting a good number of health professionals, especially from the nursing cadre.
